Abstract: 

This paper reviews the historical development of watershedexperiments on the H. J. Andrews Experimental Forest, Oregon, and gives sitecharacteristics and background information on current programs. The site is aBiosphere Reserve and has an active program on Long-Term Ecological Researchprogram funded by NSF. H. J. Andrews represents one of the world's mostproductive forest ecosystems, and its integrated research base includes theland-water interface.
