Abstract: 

Eighty-two northern spotted owl (Strix occidentalis caurina) pellets con-taining 129 prey items were collected from high elevation forests in southwesternOregon. Northern flying squirrels (Glaucomys sabrinus) comprised 50% of prey numbersand 54% of prey biomass. Other important prey were bushy-tailed woodrats (Neotomacinerea) and voles (Clethrionomys occidentalis and Microtus spp.).
