This dataset contains locations of the HJ Andrews hydrology and watershed studies features including small experimental watersheds, all gaged watersheds, gaging station locations, and watershed boundaries generated from digital elevation models. Data sources are identified within the metadata for each GIS layer.

Processing procedures; ; HF01401: Experimental Watershed Boundaries, Watersheds 1, 6, 7, and 9 were extracted from the Willamette Natl For vegetation coverage. 2, 3, and 8, were digitized using DEM contours. Watershed 9 and 10 were added from the gaged watershed coverage. The gaged watershed lines were removed to show the complete watershed boundaries. ; | Processing procedures; ; HF01402: Gaged Watersheds, Watersheds 1, 6, 7, and 9 were extracted from the Willamette Natl For vegetation coverage. 2, 3, and 8, were digitized using DEM contours. Watershed 9 and 10 were added from the gaged watershed coverage. ; | Processing procedures; ; HF01403: Stream Gage Stations. Data was collected by GPS. Documentation is available with data in gpspoints. The data was reselected from the larger gpspoints dataset by specific sitecodes. Points were adjusted to match the stream network (on-screen digitizing) Original GPS points are available at /data/cascade/hja27/strgage_old. ; GPS 2002| Processing procedures; ; <p>HF01404: 10 meter DEM Watershed Boundaries: A lattice was generated using the 10 meter DEM of the HJ Andrews and surrounding area. The sinks were filled on the lattice, and a flow direction grid was generated. A flow accumulation grid was also generated. The flow accumulation grid was used to adjust the gps locations of the gaging stations to cells where they would draw the watershed correctly. The gaging stations were converted to a grid layer, and snappour was used. The grid watershed command was used to create the watershed boundaries. There were problems with watersheds 8, 9, and 10. Adjustments were made to watershed 8 gaging station to get a better deliniation of the watershed. It was decided to use the existing boundary for watershed 9 as the 10 meter DEM representation was not working (it appears to be due to errors in the DEM). Watershed 10 was drawn too large, so the old southern boundary was used with the 10 meter DEM boundaries to make a better repres
The purpose of this dataset is to provide basic location information for use with the hydrology and small watershed studies. This data can also be used to generate a hydrological model for the HJ Andrews.
