HJA Day
HJA Day 2022 is CANCELLED due to precautions and social distancing requirements around COVID-19. The USFS headquarters of the HJ Andrews Experimental Forest remains closed.
HJA Day is an annual field gathering to share information about research, outreach, education, management, and arts and humanities at the Andrews Forest. The full-day event takes place at the HJ Andrews Experimental Forest in Blue River, Oregon, and features presentations and field trips. HJA Day is hosted by the Andrews Forest Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) Program. See Photos of HJA Day.
Tentative, for a future year
7:30 AM: Vans depart from OSU. West side of Richardson Hall
9:30 AM: Coffee and pastries. Sign-up for afternoon field trips. Cafeteria.
9:45 AM: Introductions and Welcomes. Pavilion
10:00 AM: Final sign-up for field trips, move to first morning presentation station
10:15 AM – 12:00 PM: Morning stations. Around Headquarters.
12:00 – 12:50 PM. Lunch. Attendees bring a sack lunch. Headquarters.
12:50 PM: Assemble for field trips. Load vans.
1:00 – 3:00 PM. Field Trips.
3:00 PM: Return to Headquarters for snacks and social time.
3:30 PM: First van departs for Corvallis (vans will load and depart when 10-12 people are ready)
4:00 PM: Final van departs for Corvallis
6:00 PM: Vans arrive in Corvallis
Transportation from the OSU campus is provided. Morning refreshments and an afternoon snack are provided. Participants bring a sack lunch.
