Wireless

The primary wireless communication sites are linked to each other and to the Andrews Forest headquarters by 5.8Ghz radio bridges.  Climate and gauging stations connect to access points along this radio backhaul using 900Mhz radios.  It is possible to link additional remote research sites to the wireless backhaul if there is relatively unobstructed (some vegetation, but no terrain obstacles) line of site from the remote location to one of the wireless access points.  Contact the Site System Administrator for questions about utilizing the wireless communication system for research or education purposes.
