General Stand Description:
Reference Stand 35 is designed to sample the riparian
stand along the lower reaches of Hagan Creek. As such, the
plot samples the thin band of hardwoods on the margins of the
creek. Sampled hardwood species include big-leaf maple,
western dogwood, red alder, and cascara.
The tree layer is dominated by mature Pseudotsuga
menzeisii accompanied by increasing amounts of Tsuga
heterophylla now entering the stand. Hardwoods, largely
restricted to the stream margins, include substantial amounts
of Rhamnus purshiana, Acer macrophyllum, Corus nuttallii, and
Alnus rubra.
