General Stand Description:

The tree stand is made up of scattered large, old- growth Pseudotsuga menziesii with abundant, largely younger stems of Tsuga heterophylla and Thuja plicata. Taxus brevifolia is also common. Tree species having only limited occurrence include Abies amabilis, Acer macrophyllum, and Cornus nuttallii.
The riparian vegetation within an area 40 m by 100 m along the main stem of Mack Creek has been sampled periodically starting in 1982. Unfortunately these data have not been summarized so no iformation is currently available.
As is the case with most other reference stands, stem maps have been made and are available.
