                    structure; friable when moist, sticky and 
                    slightly plastic when wet; 10% coarse sand 
                    and fine gravel; abrupt and smooth boundary.

AC  2 - 9 in.       Very dark gray (10YR3/1) when moist heavy 
                    loam; moderate, medium angular blocky 
                    structure; friable when moist, sticky and 
                    slightly plastic when wet; 10% coarse sand 
                    and fine gravel, 5% cobbles; clear and wavy 
                    boundary.

C1  9 - 15 in.      Dark grayish brown (2.5Y4/2) when moist sandy 
                    clay loam; moderate, fine to medium
