A1  0 - 8 in.       Dark  yellowish brown (10YR3/4) when moist 
                    shotty heavy loam; moderate, medium granular 
                    structure; slightly hard when dry, friable 
                    when moist, nonsticky and slightly plastic 
                    when wet; 15% shot, 1/4 in. ash on top; 
                    abundant all roots; gradual and wavy boundary.

B1  8 - 18 in.      Dark yellowish brown (10YR4/4) when moist 
                    heavy loam; weak, coarse granular structure; 
                    slightly hard when dry, friable when moist, 
                    nonsticky and slightly plastic when wet; 10% 
                    shot; abundant fine and medium, common coarse 
                    roots; clear and wavy boundary.
