                    shotty loam; strong, coarse granular 
                    structure; hard when dry, friable when moist, 
                    nonsticky and nonplastic when wet; 20% fine 
                    shot, 1/4 in. ash on top; abundant all roots; 
                    gradual and wavy boundary.

B1  9 - 19 in.      Dark yellowish brown (10YR4/4) when moist 
                    shotty heavy loam; weak, fine subangular 
                    blocky breaking to moderate, coarse granular 
                    structure; hard when dry, friable when moist, 
                    nonsticky and slightly plastic when wet; 15% 
                    shot; abundant fine and medium, common coarse 
                    roots; clear and wavy boundary.
