A1  0 - 4 in.       Very dark brown (10YR2/2) when moist silt 
                    loam; strong, fine granular structure; very 
                    friable when moist, nonsticky and slightly 
                    plastic when wet; very high in organic matter 
                    content; abundant fine,medium and coarse 
                    roots; clear and irregular boundary.

A3  4 - 16 in.      Very dark grayish brown (10YR3/2) when moist 
                    silty clay loam; moderate, medium subangular 
                    blocky structure; slightly hard when dry, 
                    firm when moist, slightly sticky and plastic 
                    when wet; common fine and medium, few coarse 
                    roots; gradual and wavy boundary.
