A1  0 - 4 in.       Very dark brown (7.5YR2/3) when moist shotty 
                    loam; strong, fine to medium granular 
                    structure; friable when moist, slightly 
                    sticky and slightly plastic when wet; 40% 
                    shot; clear and smooth boundary.

A3  4 - 9 in.       Dark brown (7.5YR3/2) when moist silt loam; 
                    weak, medium subangular blocky breaking to 
                    strong, fine to medium granular structure; 
                    firm when moist, slightly sticky and slightly 
                    plastic when wet; 15% shot; gradual and wavy 
                    boundary.
