A1  0 - 12 in.      Very dark brown (10YR2/2) when moist gravelly 
                    silt loam; strong, medium granular structure; 
                    soft when dry, very friable when moist, 
                    nonsticky and nonplastic when wet; 20% 
                    gravel; abundant fine, medium, and coarse  
                    roots; clear and wavy boundary.

AB  12 - 16 in.     Brown (10YR4/3) when moist silty clay loam; 
                    moderate, fine subangular blocky structure; 
                    soft when dry, friable when moist, nonsticky 
                    and slightly sticky when wet; common fine, 
                    medium, and coarse  roots; gradual and wavy 
                    boundary.
