The Andrews Experimental Forest Symposium was initiated as a forum to foster communication about research taking place on the Andrews. Occurring almost annually, the symposium also gives a chance for the broader OSU community to become aware and involved in HJA research plus is a venue for graduate students to interact with the research community by sharing their ideas and results. Beginning in 1997, students and researchers present research results in the form of oral and poster presentations. A morning session includes oral presesentations and have ranged from highlighting new research at HJA, examining historical research from HJA, encouraging interactions of scientists studying social and policy dynamics with those studying biophysical processes. An afternoon session includes a poster session and sometimes a panel discussion that encourages synthesis and cohesion of both the oral and poster presentations.
