- KEYWORDS:
- Administration, Program administration, Road management, Road networks, Roads, Disturbance
- PURPOSE:
- For use in base map production, forest access, transportation planning, and as reference points to other data. The road construction history documents the road construction process over time. This data has been used as a basis for researching invasive plant migration into the Andrews Experimental Forest.
- METHODS:
Processing Procedures - GI007:
Description:
GI00801: Road Network: digitized from 1:60000 air photos, using AP190 analytical stereo plotter. Data was updated in 2004 for the new Andews Map. A code was added for status and identified those roads that were abandoned. Coverage was converted to a shapefile and projected to Nad83 Datum.
Processing Procedures - GI007 (1):
Description:
GI00802: Trail locations from Willamette National Forest GIS database was plotted onto a base map. The Andrews staff reviewed the existing locations, and made changes. The resulting hardcopy map was used to edit the existing data by digitizing on-screen. The results were verified by Andrews field staff. Trail names were added as an attribute. Coverage was converted to a shapefile and projected to Nad83 Datum.
Processing Procedures - GI007 (2):
Description:
GI00803: Gates: The shapefile was digitized on-screen from map locations that were placed on hard copy of Andrews Base Map. The results were verified by Andrews field staff. . An attribute was added to insure the proper orientation of gate symbols for the map.

- PROGRESS DESCRIPTION:
- Study collection is completed and no new collection is planned
- UPDATE FREQUENCY DESCRIPTION:
- Data is updated as needed
- CURRENTNESS REFERENCE:
- "Observed" refers to the range of dates during which the data is observed (this basis is used when there is no physical presence at the collection site, and the information may be collected by instrument or other tool; for example, the range of dates during which satellite imagery, aerial photographs, or other images forming the base study data are created).
